How to playtest your deck

Before you buy the cards, find out how the deck actually draws. Open any deck and tap Playtest in the editor toolbar. Nothing you do there changes the deck.

Opening Hand

Draws a random opening hand. Mulligan reshuffles and draws again, with a counter for how many you've taken, and your last three hands stay visible so you can compare them. The fastest way to see whether your deck starts well.

Playmat

A solo board for playing the deck out turn by turn:

• Draw and Next Turn (which untaps everything and draws).
• Drag cards from your hand into zones — Battlefield and Lands for Magic, Monsters and Spell/Trap for Yu-Gi-Oh, Active, Bench and Trainers for Pokémon, Characters and Stage for One Piece.
• Piles for your deck, graveyard, exile, tokens and Extra Deck, plus a Command zone for Commander.
• Counters: life, a live mana readout for Magic, and a DON!! counter for One Piece.

Consistency Stats

Simulates 100, 1,000 or 10,000 opening hands and reports the results, so you're not guessing from a handful of test draws.

• Magic: how often you get 2–4 lands, how often you're mana-screwed, and how often you have a 1- or 2-drop.
• Pokémon: how often your hand has a Basic Pokémon — anything under about 95% is a concern — plus average Pokémon, Trainers and Energy per hand.

Mana Analysis (Magic)

A 10,000-hand land simulation: playable (2–4 lands), screwed (0–1) and flooded (5+). Most 60-card decks run 22–26 lands; Commander decks 36–38.

Prize Check (Pokémon)

The top six cards of a Pokémon deck become prize cards you can't use until you take prizes. Prize Check simulates 10,000 games and shows how often each card lands in your prizes. If a key card is prized often, it may be worth another copy.
